Honista and InstaPro 2 are the two Instagram mods people compare most. Both add the things the official app will not give you: downloading reels and stories, hiding your online status, themes, and an ad-free feed. Both are unofficial, both install from an APK file, and neither is on the Google Play Store.

So which one should you actually use? The honest answer is that the differences are smaller than the fan pages make them sound. This guide compares them side by side so you can pick based on what you care about — not based on which site shouts louder.

Two things to notice in that table. First, the version numbers do not compare directly: Honista counts its own releases (v13.0) while InstaPro counts its builds (v15.90). A bigger number does not mean a better app. Second, InstaPro’s Instagram base (439.0.0.38.89) is newer than the base Honista v13.0 was built on — that mostly matters for keeping up with Instagram’s own changes, not for day-to-day features.

Where Honista is stronger

Privacy controls in one place. Honista’s Ghost Mode is the feature people actually switch for: hide your online status, read messages without sending a “seen” receipt, and watch stories without appearing in the viewer list. It is one toggle in the privacy settings, not a hunt through menus. Our full guide: Honista Ghost Mode: What It Does and How to Turn It On.

Themes and personalisation. Honista’s theme, font and chat-background options are deeper than most mods — you can change the look of the whole app, not just the accent colour. See How to Customize Honista.

A clear, honest download source. Honista v13.0 is hosted on a public GitHub release page, so you can see the exact file name (honista_apk_v13.0a), the 151 MB size and the release date before you download. Download it from our homepage.

Where InstaPro 2 is stronger

Newer Instagram base. InstaPro v15.90 runs on Instagram base 439.0.0.38.89 (October 30, 2026). A newer base usually means fewer broken features after Instagram changes something on its side.

Full-HD uploads and handy extras. InstaPro lets you upload stories, videos and photos in full HD, copy any comment or bio with a tap, and zoom profile pictures in full size. If you post a lot, those small extras add up.

Frequent releases. InstaPro’s team (Sam Mods) ships updates often. That is a plus when Instagram breaks something — and a small minus, because you update more often.

Safety: the part neither site should hide from you

Both apps are unofficial mods. That means three honest facts apply to both equally:

  1. Neither is on the Play Store, so neither has passed Google’s checks. Download only from a source you trust, and check the file name and size before installing.
  2. No mod can promise your account is safe. InstaPro’s own pages say its anti-ban protection is not a guarantee, and the same is true for Honista. Instagram can detect modified clients and restrict accounts. Do not run either mod on an account you cannot afford to lose. Read the full picture first: Will Honista Get My Instagram Account Banned? and Is Honista APK Safe?.
  3. Both need the same care at install time. Allow “install unknown apps” for your browser, install the APK, and log in with your Instagram account. Neither needs root access — both install like a normal APK file.

If a site tells you one of these mods is “100% safe” or “ban-proof”, that site is selling you something. Neither claim is true.

Which one should you pick?

  • Pick Honista if privacy is your main reason for switching — Ghost Mode, hidden seen receipts and story viewing without being seen — and if you like changing themes and fonts. Start here: Honista APK Latest Version Download (2026).
  • Pick InstaPro 2 if you want the newest Instagram base and you post a lot — full-HD uploads and the copy/zoom extras matter more to you than Ghost Mode.
  • Pick neither (yet) if you only want one extra feature. Check whether the official app or a smaller change already does it — our Best Instagram Mods roundup and the Honista vs Instander comparison cover the other options.

You do not have to marry one mod. Many people try both for a week and keep the one that feels better. Just back up anything important first — our backup guide takes two minutes — and keep the official app’s login details safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better, Honista or InstaPro 2?
Neither wins outright. Honista is stronger on privacy controls (Ghost Mode) and themes; InstaPro 2 runs a newer Instagram base and adds full-HD uploads. Pick based on the features you will actually use.

Is InstaPro 2 safe to use?
It is an unofficial mod, so it carries the same risks as Honista: no Play Store checks, and Instagram may restrict accounts that use modified clients. Its anti-ban feature is not a guarantee. Do not use it on an account you cannot afford to lose.

Can I install both Honista and InstaPro 2 on the same phone?
Technically yes — they are separate apps. But running two mods means two logins and two sets of updates to track, and both carry the same account risk. Most people pick one.

Do Honista and InstaPro 2 need root access?
No. Both install like a normal APK file: download, allow “install unknown apps” for your browser, tap the file and install.

Which one is better for privacy?
Honista, slightly — Ghost Mode puts hide-online, hide-seen and anonymous story viewing behind one toggle. InstaPro has the same ideas, but Honista’s version is the one people switch for. See our Ghost Mode guide for exactly what it hides.
